Meghalaya also reveals hidden marvels such as the Double Decker Root Bridge, an extraordinary living bridge built from the roots of ancient trees.

An unforgettable highlight is the Hornbill Festival in Nagaland, celebrated every December. This colorful cultural event showcases the unique traditions, dances, and foods of Nagaland’s many tribes, giving visitors a rare glimpse into one of India’s most vibrant cultural heritages. Itinerary

Day 01: Departure Kuala Lumpur Arrival Guwahati, India
Departure from Kuala Lumpur at 9:25pm. Arrival Guwahati 11:10pm. Transfer to hotel. Overnight Guwahati.

Day 02: Guwahati Shillong (B, D)
Today after breakfast we will drive to Shillong for 2-3 hours. Usually there is not much congestion on the Guwahati Shillong highway which makes your journey in this route hassle-free. Guwahati to Shillong route has the best traveling experience as it is one of the most scenic routes in the Northeast region where you can see wide landscapes with lush greenery all around throughout your journey. There are different tourist spots on the way, especially Umiam Lake. Stop at the Umiam Lake and enjoy the picturesque scenery from its viewpoint. Upon arrival at Shillong check in at the hotel. Overnight Shillong.

Day 03: Shillong - Cherrapunje (B, D)
After breakfast, start your journey towards Cherrapunjee with lush green mountains viewing numerous waterfalls falling all over on route to Cherapunjeee. En-route visit Shillong Peak to have a picturesque view of the entire city and then Elephant Falls, named after an elephant-like stone at its foot. The Elephant Falls are amongst the most popular falls in the Northeast. Upon arrival at Cherrapunjee, visit Mawkdok Dympep Valley Viewpoint, Seven Sisters Falls, MawsmaiCave and Amazing Eco Park (depends on the timing and not in sequence order). Overnight Cherrapunjee.

Day 04: Double Decker Root Bridge (B, D)
Early morning 6am start your journey to Double Decker Root Bridge, deep in the dense tropical forest of Meghalaya must visit destination known for its numerous waterfalls. a 3000-stepjourney down the hill and the trek starts from Tyrna Village. Start the trek to the Double Decker Root Bridge (Nongriat) and enjoy the view all the way. In the afternoon return to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight Cherrapunjee. (Note: Those who join the trek to Double Decker Root Bridge have option roaming around Cherrapunjee, free and easy day)

Day 05: Cherrapunjee (B, D)
After a good breakfast, get ready to explore the remaining attractions in Cherrapunjee. Visit Nohkalikai Falls, Rainbow Falls, Arwah Cave, Wah-Kaba Falls and Garden of Caves. Enjoy the beautiful evening. Overnight Cherrapunjee.

Day 06: Cherrapunje - Mawlynnong - Dawki Shillong (B, D)
Today early morning, start your road journey to Mawlynnong. Mawlynnong was awarded the prestigious tag of Cleanest Village in Asia in 2003. Visit Root Bridge and Bamboo Bridge. After Mawlynnong, you will start your journey to the border town of Dawki, a hidden paradise. The driver will keep getting you closer and closer to the Bangladesh plains which you headfirst spotted from Mawlynnong Village. Umngot River in Dawki is crystal clear and is considered one the cleanest rivers in India. You can enjoy boat rides in the river. Later in the evening return to Shillong. Overnight Shillong.

Day 07: Shillong - Mawsynram Guwahati (B, D)
After a wholesome breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to Guwahati. En route we will visit Mawsynram. Mawsynram lying in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya is titled 'The Wettest Place on Earth'. Arrival Guwahati in the evening. Overnight Guwahati.

Day 08: Fly to Dimapur Kohima Kisama Village (B, D)
Morning after breakfast move to airport to catch up flight to Dimapur in Nagaland state. From Dimapur drive 3 hours to Kohima town and then another 12km to Kisama village. Overnight Guesthouse in Kisama.

Day 09: Full Day Hornbill Festival (B, D)
Today we have full day to visit Hornbill Festival. It just a walking distance (15 minutes walking) from guesthouse to the festival. The Hornbill Festival is an annual festival celebrated from 1 to 10 of December in the Northeastern Indian state of Nagaland. The festival represents all ethnic groups of Nagaland for which it is also called the Festival of Festivals. The weeklong festival unites one and all in Nagaland and people enjoy the colorful performances, crafts, sports, food fairs, games, and ceremonies. All the ethnic groups of Nagaland take part in this festival. The aim of the festival is to revive and protect the rich culture of Nagaland and display its extravaganza and traditions. For visitors it means a closer understanding of the people and culture of Nagaland, and an opportunity to experience the food, songs, dances, and customs of Nagaland. Overnight Guesthouse in Kisama.

Day 10: Hornbill Festival Closing Ceremony (B, D)
Today another exciting day in the festival. Closing ceremony is the highlight of the festival that mostly we can enjoy the celebrations including the performances of the 18 cultural troupes from various tribes of Nagaland. Cultural troupes presented unity dance around the bonfire which were lit by the honored guests in India. Overnight Guesthouse in Kisama.

Day 11: Drive to Dimapur Fly to Guwahati, Assam (B, D)
Today after breakfast we will drive back to Dimapur for 3 hours and catch-up afternoon flight to Guwahati in Assam state. Arrival Guwahati airport and move to hotel for rest. Overnight Guwahati.

Day 12: Departure to KL (B)
Today after breakfast is free and easy in Guwahati town before moving to the airport in the evening to catch-up flight departure at 11:45pm. End tour.

Day 13: Arrival Kuala Lumpur 6:35am
