One of the island's most iconic sights is the Dragon's Blood Trees (Dracaena cinnabari), with their umbrella-like canopy and crimson resin. You'll also encounter the unique cucumber tree (Dendrosicyos socotranus), the Socotra desert rose (Adenium obesum socotranum), and countless other plant species found nowhere else on earth.
Socotra's population comprises various ethnic groups, including the indigenous Socotri people. Day 01: Arrival Abu Dhabi Airport
Departure from KLIA at 2:45pm arrival Abu Dhabi airport 10pm. Waiting departure-chartered flight early morning next day to Socotra Island, Yemen. (Optional to check-in transit hotel in Abu Dhabi Airport for rest overnight).
Day 02: Arrival Socotra Island - Qalansiya - Detwah Lagoon (L, D)
Departure from Abu Dhabi to Socotra Island 6.30am. After a one and half hour flight, arrival in Socotra airport you will be greeted by a local Socotri guide. Drive to Qalansiya, the second largest town on the island. We will have our lunch at Detwah then you can walk around huge lagoon, which is famous for its sandy lagoon, spectacular landscapes, sea crates, turtles, massive octopus, balloon fish, sting ray, seashells, fish, calamari etc. As the afternoon moves into evening, make sure you find a place to watch one of the spectacular Socotra sunsets and on our way to Qalansiya in Alalmah village we will have a stop to take photo in the military tank from Russia next to the coast.
Day 03: Shoub Beach - Qalansiya - Detwah Lagoon (B, L, D)
Early morning, we will take a boat trip to Shoub beach with local fisherman. Along the way, be sure to look out for spinner dolphins while observing plenty of native sea birds and stunning rock formations. Line fishing is also possible from the boat before arriving at pristine beach, mangrove trees can be found in the beach. Relax at the most beautiful beach on the island, after that take a boat ride back to Qalansiya beach. Then drive to Detwah lagoon for lunch. After 3pm meet the cave man and discover the lagoon with him to see the buffer fish, sting ray, calamari, octopus, oyster then return to campsite before sunset.
Day 04: Diksam Plateau – Farmhin Forest (B, L, D)
After breakfast drive to Diksam plateau then to Farmhin Forest. The area is best known for the native dragon’s blood tree and is home to the bedouin nomadic people. Stop for photo at Shebahon’s viewpoint. Lunch in the village of Diksam then drive to Farmhin dragon’s blood trees forest. Stop at Wadi Dehur canyon for a walk. Hike through the beginning of Fermhin forest of dragon’s blood trees and devote our time to meet pastoralists. Tonight, we will mingle with locals for dinner and tea at a village.
Day 05: Degub Cave - Omaq Beach (B, L, D)
After breakfast drive towards the south coast in Nuged. Explore Degub cave which sits overlooking a scattering of villages below. After we drive to explore Omaq sandy beach where you can walk along the sandy beach and swim in the clear waters of the Indian Ocean, lunch will be prepared in Omaq beach. After lunch we will have tea and relax in the shadow of palm trees then around 3pm drive to Hayf and Zahak big sand dunes. Enjoy sunset from the dunes and drive back to Omaq beach.
Day 06: Kelesehan Canyon - Arher Beach (B, L, D)
After breakfast drive 3 hours to Momi plateau to visit one of the amazing for its natural freshwater swimming pools and cascades called Kelesehan canyon that can be reached after walking for about one hour. The natural pool drives via Wadi Farho famous of palm tree oasis and water in wadi and can see many bottle trees on the way. After swimming drive to Qaria palm trees oasis for lunch. Then continue to drive to Arher where we can see the giant sand dunes. This is the point where freshwater and saltwater meet creating natural phenomenon. The area is surrounded by giant sand dunes and best for watching fabulous sunrise.
Day 07: Sand Dunes Arher (B, L, D)
Early morning wakes up at 4am to climb the sand dunes to watch the sunrise with beauty of the sand dunes. Having breakfast prepared by our local team. Then we will visit Ras Erisal the meeting point of Arabian Sea and Indian Ocean. Visit local village and meet local children of the village.
Day 08: Homhill National Park - Dihamri (B, L, D)
Breakfast at 7am then drive to Homhill National Park. The park is famous for its supply of the famous dragon’s blood tree and frankincense trees. The bottle tree and cucumber plant can also be found here. After walking for an hour or so, we will reach an incredible crystal-clear pool complete with views over the whole northern part of the island then drive back to Qaria palm oasis for lunch. After lunch drive to Dihamri marine protected area. Snorkeling (optional) available to see different type of fishes and coral reef then drive to Delisha beach for dinner and drive to Hadibo hotel for overnight.
Day 09: Return to Socotra Airport (B)
Luckily, you will be able to fit in one last sumptuous Socotra breakfast before head all the way back to the airport to catch a flight back home. Departure from Socotra 12.10pm and arrival Abu Dhabi 3:25pm. Waiting for the departure flight back to KL at 11pm. End tour
Day 10: Arrival Home Country
Arrival in KL at 1:45pm
