Spiti Valley is home to numerous ancient Buddhist monasteries, some dating back over a thousand years. Key monasteries include Ki Monastery (Key Gompa), Tabo Monastery (Tabo Chos-Khor), and Dhankar Monastery, each offering insights into Tibetan Buddhist culture, art, and architecture. Visitors can participate in prayer ceremonies, interact with monks, and admire ancient murals and statues. Traveling through Spiti Valley provides opportunities to visit traditional Himalayan villages and experience the local way of life. Day 01: Arrival at Chandigarh Airport, India (D)
Departure from KLIA at 5:45am and arrival same day 2pm local India time. Upon arrival in Chandigarh airport, will transfer to a private car and continue for a 4-hour drive to Shimla. Dinner and check-in hotel then take rest after long day.
Day 02: Sightseeing Shimla (2276 m) (B, D)
After breakfast, we will have leisure day to visit tourist attractions around Shimla. Shimla is the capital of the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh in the Himalayan foothills. Once the summer capital of British India. We will visit Jakhoo temple, Rashtrapati Niwas (Indian Institute Advanced Study) and other places based on timing and guest preferences. After lunch, we will walk to the bazaar, visit the iconic church in the center of Shimla and all places that are mostly just walking distance from the hotel where we stay in Shimla.
Day 03: Shimla - Sarahan (2313 m) (B, D)
Upon arrival check-in hotel then walk out visit around Sarahan village including the ancient Bima Kali temple that was built 3000 years ago. Dinner in the hotel and rest.
Day 04: Sarahan - Sangla - Chitkul (3540 m) (B, D)
After breakfast, will continue to drive to Sangla that will take around 4-5 hours. After arrival in Sangla, will check-in at a luxury campsite and have lunch. Then we will visit Chitkul, about 2 Chitkul is the nearest village just next to Tibet, China. The mountainous view around here is fantastic. In the evening, will return to Sangla to have dinner and rest.
Day 05: Sangla - Kalpa (2960 m) (B, D)
Spiti Valley In-Line permit. Normally In-Line permit will be settled within an hour. Done with permit we will continue drive to Kalpa about 1-hour drive from Reckong Peo. Upon arrival, check-in, and lunch in hotel in Kalpa. After some rest, we will go out walking around Kalpa village that is famous for its mountainous and picturesque view. In the evening, walk back to the hotel to have dinner and rest.
Day 06: Kalpa - Nako (3700 m) (B, D)
After breakfast, will move to Nako about 3 to 4Nako, check-in hotel and have short rest. We will go out walk around Nako village to visit Nako Lake and old monastery that was built hundred years ago at 3700 meter above sea level. Before sunset walking back to the hotel for dinner and rest.
Day 07: Nako - Taboo (3280 m) (B, D)
After breakfast, will continue to drive to Taboo for Upon arrival, check-in to the hotel and have a short rest before walking out to visit the old monastery. Walk back to hotel in the evening to have dinner in hotel and rest.
Day 08: Taboo - Dhankar - Pin Valley (3500 m) (B, D)
After breakfast, we will visit an old monastery in Dhankar village. After visiting Dhankar we will continue to drive to Pin valley and have lunch there. In the evening have time to walk around the village in this picturesque Pin Valley.
Day 09: Pin Valley - Kaza (3800 m) (B, D)
Today after breakfast, we will drive to Kaza. This journey will take around 4 to 5 hours. Upon arrival, check-in hotel and we can have lunch around Kaza local market that is just walking distance from the hotel we stay in Kaza. Half day is free and easy day around Kaza.
Day 10: Kaza - Langza - Komik - Hikkem - Kaza (3800 m) (B, D)
Today after breakfast, we will go on a day tour to 3 high altitude villages in Spiti valley; Langza4420 m, Komik 4500 m and Hikkem 4400 m. Komik is known as the highest village in the world and Hikkem has the highest post office in the world. We can visit the post office and send postcards here too. Return to the hotel in the evening to have dinner and rest.
Day 11: Kaza Manali (2050 m) (B, D)
Today we have a long journey from Kaza to Manali. After early breakfast, we will visit Kee monastery which is the largest monastery in Spiti valley that was built 700 years ago then will pass via Kunzum Pass at 4500 m, which is the highest mountain pass in this entire trip. Then continue to Manali town via Atal tunnel. This is a new tunnel that just started operating in Oct 2020. Upon arrival in Manali, check-in hotel and rest.
Day 12: Rest Day Manali (2050 m) (B, D)
Today after breakfast, we will go sightseeing around Manali. We will visit places based on market to get some souvenirs to bring back home. We will have dinner in the restaurant with live band performances in the lively Old Manali. Overnight in Manali.
Day 13: Manali - Chandigarh (B, D)
Today after breakfast, will drive to Chandigarh. This journey will take around 8 to 9 drive. Lunch on the way. Check in hotel and rest after long day. Overnight in Chandigarh.
Day 14: Chandigarh Fly Back Home (B)
Today is our last day in India. After breakfast, a free and easy day in Chandigarh. In the afternoon will move to Chandigarh airport for departure back to home. End tour.
Day 15: Arrival Home Country
Arrival in KL 7:15am
